BACKGROUND: On January 4, 2022, Kittitas County Public Works was advised that the Vantage Highway over Cascade Canal (Bridge 89342) Replacement Project was selected to receive funding through the Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) Regional Federal Funds Program. On July 11, 2022, Kittitas County Public Works was notified that an additional $968,008.00 would be available for the project through STBG if we presented the funding package for construction no later than September 1, 2022. Staff has scheduled to construct this project over the Winter season of 2022 — 2023. Public Works is preparing to solicit for construction in August 2022. This requires the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus to be signed and approved by the Chair of the BOCC prior to sending to WSDOT for approval. This Project Prospectus covers the Federal Funding for the construction phase and needs to be approved by WSDOT Local Programs prior to solicitation for bids. INTERACTION: Public Works RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Chair's signature on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus for the Vantage Highway over Cascade Canal (Bridge 89342) Replacement.
