AGENDA DATE: July 5, 2022
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of Interlocal
Agreement with the State of Washington Administrative Office of the
Courts (AOC) and Kittitas County Juvenile Court Services
BACKGROUND: The Washington State Legislature enacted statutory responsibility to
create services for youth and families called BECCA (named after the
child who died without the availability for court interventions prior to
the statute.) Those services include At Risk Youth (ARY), Children
in Need of Services (CHINS) and Truancy. The AOC administers
those services through annual grant agreement with Juvenile Courts.
INTERACTION: The Prosecutors Office has reviewed the agreement and draft
resolution in accordance with Kittitas County process. The Presiding
Judge of the Superior Court reviewed and signed the agreement after
legal review.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of Interlocal Agreement
with the State of Washington Administrative Office of the Courts and
Kittitas County Juvenile Court Services.
HANDLING: Please return three signed originals of the Interlocal Agreement to
Katrina Mankus.
The Interlocal Agreement will be sent to AOC for their signature and
return. Upon AOC's response with the Interlocal Agreement an
original will be provided to the Clerk of the Board.
Please return the one signed original of the Resolution and this will be
filed along with the Interlocal.
