KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: July 5, 2022 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of Interlocal <br />Agreement with the State of Washington Administrative Office of the <br />Courts (AOC) and Kittitas County Juvenile Court Services <br />BACKGROUND: The Washington State Legislature enacted statutory responsibility to <br />create services for youth and families called BECCA (named after the <br />child who died without the availability for court interventions prior to <br />the statute.) Those services include At Risk Youth (ARY), Children <br />in Need of Services (CHINS) and Truancy. The AOC administers <br />those services through annual grant agreement with Juvenile Courts. <br />INTERACTION: The Prosecutors Office has reviewed the agreement and draft <br />resolution in accordance with Kittitas County process. The Presiding <br />Judge of the Superior Court reviewed and signed the agreement after <br />legal review. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of Interlocal Agreement <br />with the State of Washington Administrative Office of the Courts and <br />Kittitas County Juvenile Court Services. <br />HANDLING: Please return original of the Interlocal Agreement to Katrina Mankus. <br />The Interlocal Agreement will be sent to AOC for their signature and <br />return. Upon AOC's response with the Interlocal Agreement an <br />original will be provided to the Clerk of the Board. <br />Please return the signed original of the Resolution and this will be <br />filed along with the Interlocal. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution authorizing execution of Interlocal Agreement for <br />BECCA. <br />LEAD STAFF: Katrina Mankus, Juvenile Court Administrator <br />
