AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: June 21, 2022
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an
Interlocal Agreement Between the County of Walla Walla, Washington and the County
of Kittitas, Washington for the Housing of Inmates.
BACKGROUND: This Interlocal Agreement is between the Walla Walla County and
Kittitas County for the Housing of Inmates from June 21, 2022 -December 31, 2023
subject to earlier termination as provided in the Agreement. The daily rate proposed is
$69.83/day in 2022 and $73.32/day in 2023. The rate of compensation for any inmate
requiring additional or specialized conditions of incarceration to the extent that they must
be placed alone in a single cell designed for double occupancy shall be $139.65/day in
2022 and $146.63/day in 2023.
INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecutor’s Office has reviewed and approved
this Interlocal Agreement.
RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an
Interlocal Agreement Between the County of Walla Walla, Washington and the County
of Kittitas, Washington for the Housing of Inmates.
HANDLING: Please return 1 signed original to KCSO. Sheriff’s Office to provide a
fully executed Agreement back to the BOCC upon signature by Walla Walla County.
