ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Acknowledge a Letter Terminating a Lease
between the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company and Kittitas County
Sheriff's Office
BACKGROUND: The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office entered a Lease with Burlington
Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway Company in 1999 for the building and property that
served as the County's Search and Rescue base of operations for many years. The
Kittitas County Sheriff's Office has sent a letter/written notice to BNSF notifying them of
the termination of such lease to become effective on September 1, 2022.
INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has reviewed.
RECOMMENDATION: Request to Acknowledge a Letter Terminating a Lease
between the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company and Kittitas County
