KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: May 3, 2022 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Set a Public Hearing for May 24, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. to <br />consider an application to the Department of Commerce <br />for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) <br />Public Service Funds beginning July 1, 2022, through June <br />30, 2023. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Department of Commerce notified Kittitas County and <br />HopeSource that there is a total of $83,000.00 available in <br />Community Development Block Grant funds to provide public <br />services that principally benefit low-and moderate-income persons <br />for the period July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: As part of the funding requirements the Board of County <br />Commissioners are to conduct a Public Hearing to inform citizens <br />of the availability of funds, eligible uses and receive comments on <br />proposed activities, particularly from low-and moderate-income <br />persons, as well as receive comments on the programs past <br />performance and use of their 2021 CDBG Public Service Grant <br />funds. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Set a Public Hearing to be held on Tuesday May 24, 2022, at 2:00 <br />p.m. to consider public comments on the availability of funds and <br />eligible uses and proposed activities on the Community <br />Development Block Grant Public Service funds available to Kittitas <br />County and HopeSource. <br /> <br />HANDLING: 1 - Clerk of the Board <br /> 1 copy - HopeSource & Auditor’s Office <br /> 1 copy - BOCC Staff to publish & post <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Public Hearing <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Brian Carlson, Budget & Finance Director <br /> HopeSource <br /> Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board
