KITTITAS COUNTY <br />EC STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCEROOM,205 WEST 5TH ROOM 108 -ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />WEDNESDAY 10:00 AM April 13,2022 <br />Board members present:Laura Osiadacz,Chair;Brett Wachsmith,Commissioner. <br />Others:Kady Porterfield,Event Center Director;Patti Johnson,Maintenance and Solid Waste <br />Director. <br />1.Meeting called to order at 10:02am by Chair Osiadacz. <br />2.Approve Professional Services Agreement Amendment with ALSC Architects:Kady <br />and Patti relayed that this was the amendment to design and build specifications for the <br />washracks on the Bloom Pavilion Addition,which had been agreed upon to do at a prior <br />meeting.Brett moved to use Chair's signature to approve the professional services <br />agreement amendment with ALSC Architects.Laura seconded the motion.Further <br />discussion:Brett is excited to see this move forward after the all the years of working on <br />it,and Laura agreed.Motion passes.Patti relayed that the building permit will be <br />submitted before the end of this week on the Bloom Pavilion Addition construction and <br />will hopefully go out to bid early this summer to begin work after the Kittitas County <br />Fair. <br />3.Rodeo Grandstands Project:Brett,Patti,and Kady are meeting with Carl Jensvold <br />(Ellensburg Rodeo Board),Bruce Tabb (City of Ellensburg),and Heidi Behrends <br />Cerniwey (City of Ellensburg)to tour the Rodeo Grandstands and talk about the plans for <br />the proposed project and our partnership on it moving forward.Kady will have <br />documents prepared to review after the on-site tour. <br />4.Special Projects:Patti reported that Central Washington University has now hired a <br />consultant to begin to work on the North Parking Lot design for paving.She will be <br />receiving weekly updates and will get with Kady and stakeholders for input on design as <br />soon as the consultant is ready to begin work. <br />Patti also gave an update on Shady Acres as she is having a hazmat analysis <br />completed on some trailers in order to go out to bid to get them demoed and removed <br />next.There was only one resident who attended the last Department of Commerce help <br />session at the Event Center.It was discussed that a reminder message should be sent to <br />residents that haven't turned in their Department of Commerce paperwork yet and assist <br />them in getting it completed so they can receive that financial assistance.Patti said she's <br />waiting to hear the value on the First and Last Tavern before they can move forward on <br />selling that piece now that it's their own parcel. <br />The Kittitas Valley Event Center Master Plan was discussed and how all these <br />moving pieces are working very nicely to fit that,so we will hopefully see some major <br />progress very soon. <br />2022-04-13 MINUTES 1
