ACTION REQUESTED: Approval of Professional Services Agreement with LDC, Inc. for Kittitas County
Code Updates to Implement Ellensburg UGA Interlocal Agreement
BACKGROUND: On January 18, 2022, the Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution No. 2022-
013, an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) with the city of Ellensburg regarding annexation
and development within the city’s Urban Growth Area (UGA). The ILA requires
that the county adopt certain code amendments to implement the ILA no later than
December 31, 2022.
Due to the loss of our Long Range Planner in January and the current workload of
staff planners, CDS will need assistance in completing the code updates required by
the ILA. The attached Professional Services Agreement would allow LDC, Inc. to
provide long range planning services to complete these updates.
The total amount for the project is $33,900. This was not in the 2022 CDS budget.
Savings from the Long Range Planner vacancy can be applied to this total, but a
budget transfer or amendment would be required.
