AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: May 3, 2022
ACTION REQUESTED: Review and Acknowledge the Modification of
Intergovernmental Agreement between the U.S. Marshals Service and the Kittitas County
Sheriff’s Office.
BACKGROUND: The Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) have
had a standing agreement regarding the housing of USMS detainees at Kittitas County
Jail. This modification is updating various sections of the standing agreement and
updating language to others. This serves as notice of the addition of Replacing “Purpose
of Agreement and Security Provided” section with Addendum #1, adding new language
to “Medical Services” section pertaining to Covid-19 and other infectious diseases,
adding “Pregnant or Post-Partum Prisoners” language to all Guard Services’ sections,
adding new “Video Teleconferencing” section, adding new “Voter Registration” section,
adding new “Body Camera Information Requests”, and adding new language to
“Restrictive Housing and Suicide Prevention”.
INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has reviewed and
approved.
RECOMMENDATION: Review and Acknowledge the Modification of
Intergovernmental Agreement between the U.S. Marshals Service and the Kittitas County
Sheriff’s Office.
HANDLING: No handling required.
