Good Afternoon Mr. Horner! Our office received the attached Special Event Application &
Application fee from Erik Olson to host the Teanaway Gravel Ride, to be held on July 9,2022 -July 1 0, 2022. I will be placing this request on the April 19, 2022 Commissioner Agenda for the
Board's consideration. Please submit your departments recommendation to me no later than
April 4, 2022 by noon. lf there are still outstanding issues, please indicate those in writing as
well. For specific questions regarding the event I would ask that you contact the applicant
directly.

This letter is in response to your request tbr our department's requirements for the Teanaway
Gravel Ride event scheduled for July 9 - 10th,2022.
The applicant indicates there will be no foodservice at this event.
The estimated attendance for the event is approximately 300 people. The applicant must provide
a minimtun of three portable toilets and handwashing facilities located in high use areas at the
beginning and ending points of the races with at least one being a handicapped toilet.
Garbage cans with tight-fitting lids must be provided at the beginning and ending points of each
race in high-use areas.

Board Members:
The Board of County Commissioners has received an event application from Erik Olson for
Teanaway Gravel Ride.
As this is the first year of this event there are no previous admissions taxes owing. As with all
admissions taxable events, we request that the event organizer create an admissions tax account
and file an admissions tax registration via the county website. The admissions tax in the amount
of five percent of the admissions charge will be due by J:uly 31s1,2022.
We recommend that the2022 event be approved.

Special Event Application - Teanaway Gravel RideRE
After review of the special event application submitted by Erik Olson to host the Teanaway
Gravel Ride to be held July 9 and July 10,2022, Kittitas County Public Works requires the
following:
Two (2) Week notice in the Northern Kiffitas County Tribune and Daily Record to give residents
and the traveling public notice of the event.
Placement of "Cyclists On Roadway" and "Caution - Cyclists Ahead" related signage placed on
the road prior to the intersection of Teanaway Road and West Fork Teanaway Road on both days
of the event.
Kittitas County Public Works recommends approval of this event based on the information and
proposal submitted along with the conditions mentioned above.

Regarding the Teanaway Gravel Ride event permit application the Sheriffs Office has the following
requests prior to approval:
Provide for notification and comment from the City of Cle Elum.
Provide for notification and comment from the City of Roslyn.
Ensure any and all necessary permits from USFS and DNR are completed.
Provide a detailed and adequate traffic plan for impacted county roads or road closures.
