Miner's Events and Catering is listed as the foodservice for the event. The foodservice applicant must apply to the Kittitas County Public Health Department for their temporary foodservice permit at least two weeks prior to the event. The estimated attendance for the event is 100 to 150 people. The applicant must provide sanieans and handwashing strategically located in high use areas (two sanicans each) throughout the course of the event with at least one being a handicapped sanican. A camping area has been designated for the event; therefore, two porta-potties must be placed in the camping section for the duration of the event. Garbage cans with tight-fitting lids must be provided at each high-use area and throughout the course as well as in the camping area with a dumpster placed in the parking area. Richard Hoyt has submitted applications for other events none of which have outstanding admissions tax owing. Previous events irave been exempt fiom admissions tax because the entrance fees charged have funded cash payouts to the contestants per chapter 3.22.030(d) We wouid like to remind the event organizers that any part of the charges or fees not retumed to contestants as part of cash payouts is stibiect to admissions tax. If there is a portion of fees that are not returned to contestants, the event organizer will need to create an admissions tax account and frle an admissions tax registration via the county website. The admissions tax in the amount of five percent of the admissions charge will be due by July 31't,2022. We recommend that the2022 event be approved.
