RE: Admissions Tax- Manastash Ridge Trail Run
Board Members:
The Board of County Commissioners has received an event application frorn Meridian
Geographics for the Maiastash Ridge Trail Run.
Meridian Geographics did submit an event application in 2A21 for the same event, which was
approved. At the time of the evenl approval in 2021they were made aware of the admissions tax
and online registratioti. We have not received information about the amount of tickets sold or
payment for the 2021 evenl, or any information which wouid lead us to believe that this event is
exempt from the payment of admissions tax.
The Treasurer's office is unable to recommend this event be approved until the event return form
and tax payment (including l5Yolate fee) are received per county cod,e 3.22.06a.

This letter is in response to your request for our department's requirements for the Manastash
Ridge Trail Run and Navigation Race event scheduled for May igth -29rh,2a22.
The applicant states that food will be served at the event. The foodservice applicant must apply
to the Kittitas County Public Health Department for their temporary foodservice permit at ieast
two weeks prior to the event.
The estimated attendance for the event is 150 people. The applicant must provide portable toilets
and handwashing strategically located in high use areas (two portables each; throughout the
course of the event with at least one being a handicapped toilet.
Garbage cans with tight-fitting lids must be provided at each high-use area.

RE:Special Event Application - Manastash Ridge Trail Run and Navigation
Race
After review of the special event application submitted by Meridian Geographics, LLC to host
the Manastash Ridge Trail Run and Navigation Race to be held May 28 and29,2022,Kittitas
County Public Works requires the following:
Advertisement one week in advance in the Northern Kittitas County Tribune, Daily Record, and
radio station to give residents and the traveling public notice of the event.
Kittitas County Public Works also requires a parking attendant to be present to make sure all
vehicles are parked off the county road to allow through traffic.
Kittitas County Public Works recommends approval of this event based on the information and
proposal submitted along with the conditions mentioned above.

host the Manastash Ridge Trail Run and Navigation Race, to be held on May 28 & 29,2022. I
will be placing this request on the April 19, 2022 Commissioner Agenda for the Board's
consideration. Please submit your departments recommendation to me no later than April 11,
2022 by noon. lf there are still outstanding issues, please indicate those in writing as well. For
