AGENDA DATE: April 19, 2022
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Award the
Architectural Design with Civil Site Development Contract
for the Regional Search and Rescue Facility to BORA
Architecture and Direct the Director of Public Works to
Negotiate the Design Contract on behalf of the Board.
BACKGROUND: Public Works solicited for architectural support services, on
behalf of the Board of County Commissioners, during
March 2022. A single response was received from BORA
Architecture (Yakima). The firm appears well qualified
and Public Works recommends awarding the design
contract for the regional search and rescue facility design to
BORA. The award also directs the Director of Public
Works to negotiate the design contract on behalf of the
Board.
INTERACTION: Public Works.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to award BORA Architecture the
design contract for the regional search and rescue facility in
Cle Elum, WA.
HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works.

AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN WITH CIVIL SITE
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES SUPPORTING KITTITAS COUNTY SEARCH AND
RESCUE OPERATIONS AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS
FACILITY DEVELOPMENT IN CLE ELUM, WASHINGTON
WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners directed Public Works
solicit for architectural support services designing the new regional search and
rescue facility in March 2022; and
WHEREAS: Public Works did solicit for architectural support services during the month of
March 2022 (pursuant to a statement of qualifications process) and a single
response was received from BORA Architecture, Yakima, WA; and
WHEREAS: The Sheriffs Office and Public Works reviewed BORA's qualifications
and BORA appears well qualified to design the regional search and rescue
facility for the Board of County Commissioners.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Board of County Commissioners, after due
consideration, does hereby award BORA Architecture the design contract for the regional search
and rescue facility in Cle Elum, WA.
NOW, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: The Board of County Commissioners does direct the
Director of Public Works negotiate a design contract with BORA Architecture on behalf of the
Board of County Commissioners.
