ACTION REQUESTED:
Execute MOU
BACKGROUND:
National litigation has been ongoing to assess and distribute damages caused to American communities by
the pushing of opioid drugs by certain manufacturers and distributers. Kittitas County has been a named
party to some of this litigation, along with other counties and cities. The litigation has come to a phase
where it is to the litigating municipalities advantage to enter into an MOU that sets forth a framework for
distribution of awarded damages.
INTERACTION:
The Prosecutor's Office has been working with the law firm representing the Washington litigating
municipalities and has reviewed and approved the attached MOU.
RECOMMENDATION:
Execute the attached MOU.
