03/14/2022 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON CONFERENCE ROOM/WEBEX SPECIAL MEETING MONDAY 10:00 P.M. MARCH 14, 2022 <br />Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz, Vice-Chair Cory <br />Wright; and Commissioner Brett Wachsmith. <br /> <br />Others: Taylor Crouch, Administrative Assistant; Amy Cziske, <br />Treasurer; Jerry Petit, Auditor; Brian Carlson, Budget and Finance <br />Director; and 1 member of the public. <br /> SPECIAL MEETING BUDGET EXPECTATIONS COMMISSIONERS <br />At 10:00 a.m. Chairman Osiadacz called a Special Meeting to order to <br />set BOCC budget expectations. <br /> <br />Brian Carlson, Budget and Finance Director explained his thoughts on <br />his first week in the County. Jerry Petit, Auditor, gave some <br />background on the position of what has worked and what has not in <br />this position previously. He would like to create a multi-year <br />financial plan. He also wants to focus on continuity and stability <br />in his role. <br /> <br />The Board explained the strategic goals that they have set for the <br />next 10 years and expressed a desire for the budget to match those <br />goals. The Board asked for more time with budget materials as it has <br />felt rushed in the past. <br /> <br />There was conversation about how to bring the Management Team into <br />this conversation so that the leadership team of the County knows <br />how to prioritize their budgets.
