COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON CONFERENCE ROOM/WEBEX SPECIAL MEETING MONDAY 10:00 P.M. MARCH 14, 2022
Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz, Vice-Chair Cory
Wright; and Commissioner Brett Wachsmith.
Others: Taylor Crouch, Administrative Assistant; Amy Cziske,
Treasurer; Jerry Petit, Auditor; Brian Carlson, Budget and Finance
Director; and 1 member of the public.
SPECIAL MEETING BUDGET EXPECTATIONS COMMISSIONERS
At 10:00 a.m. Chairman Osiadacz called a Special Meeting to order to
set BOCC budget expectations.
Brian Carlson, Budget and Finance Director explained his thoughts on
his first week in the County. Jerry Petit, Auditor, gave some
background on the position of what has worked and what has not in
this position previously. He would like to create a multi-year
financial plan. He also wants to focus on continuity and stability
in his role.
The Board explained the strategic goals that they have set for the
next 10 years and expressed a desire for the budget to match those
goals. The Board asked for more time with budget materials as it has
felt rushed in the past.
There was conversation about how to bring the Management Team into
this conversation so that the leadership team of the County knows
how to prioritize their budgets. There was conversation of utilizing
the Management Team Consultant, Phil Backlund to integrate the
strategic plan and budget planning.
Meeting adjourned at 10:45 a.m.
