2022 AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: March 15, 2022
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Schedule a Public Hearing on April 5, 2022, at
2:00 pm to Consider Adding a New Section to Kittitas
County Code 10.07.065 as requested by the Kittitas County
Sheriffs Department.
BACKGROUND: The Kittitas County Sheriff's Department is requesting a
new section of Kittitas County Code in the no parking
chapter making it easier for deputies to cite when writing
tickets. The new code language has been reviewed and
approved by the Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
INTERACTION: Public Works; Prosecuting Attorney's Office, Kittitas
County Sheriffs Department
RECOMMENDATION: Schedule a public hearing on April 5, 2022, at 2:00 pm to
consider and receive testimony on a new proposed section
in Chapter 10 of Kittitas County Code and advertise as
requested.
HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works.

The Board of Kittitas County Commissioners will meet at 2:00 pm on April 5, 2022 in the Commissioners' Auditorium, 205
West 5th Avenue, Room 109, Kittitas County Courthouse, Ellensburg, WA to consider adding a New Section to Kittitas
County Code 10.07.065 as requested by the Kittitas County Sheriff's Department.

Anyone with an interest in this matter is urged to attend said hearing where all testimony will be taken. Written
comments may be received at 205 W 5th Ave. STE 108, Ellensburg, WA 98926 at or prior to the hearing.
Kittitas County complies with all ADA requirements.
10.07.065 Vehicles violating parking restrictions. Any person who violates the provisions
of this chapter, shall, upon a finding of having committed the civil infraction thereof, be
punished by a civil penalty in the amount of $200 fine payable and appealable as
provided in Chapter 46.63 RCW. (Ord. 2021-015, 2021; Ord. 2020-002, 2020; Ord
2019-012, 2019; Ord. 96-16, 1996).
