KITTITAS COUNTY
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
2022 AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: March 15, 2022
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Board's
Signature on the Department of Natural Resources
Easement Supporting the Dickey Creek Bridge
Replacement Project
BACKGROUND:
During the summer of 2018, Public Works (PW) was
noticed of a Federal Lands Access Program grant
($3,190,898) supporting the replacement of the Dickey
Creek Bridge on Teanaway Road. The grant was accepted
by the Board with Resolution 2019-119 (07/16/19).
Following grant acceptance, PW lobbied Western Federal
Lands to expand the project scope allowing for realignment
of the bridge approach. An amended funding agreement
was signed by the Director in July of 2020 increasing the
project value to $7,915,000. PW has negotiated an
easement with Washington State Department of Natural
Resources (DNR) supporting the required road
realignment. The easement is now ready for Board
signature. Once signed, the project will begin construction
in 2022.
INTERACTION:
Public Works.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Board's signature
on the DNR easement.
HANDLING:
Return one original to Public Works.
ATTACHMENTS:
Resolution.
LEAD STAFF:
Mark R. Cook, Director.
