From past events, we know that birders visiiing the Yakima River Canyon Scenic Byway are split equally between males and females with an average age of 61 years old. The majority of birders who took this survey said that they have been to the Yakima River Canyon Scenic Byway for birding excursions. The 2019 event was cancelled due to a conflict with another birding event and the 2021 and 2022 events were cancelled due to covid. Pre-registration will be required for events. lectures, and field trips. We can track attendee information this way through our online licket sales. ln addition, Yakima River Canyon Bird Fest headquarters will be located ai Helen McCabe Park and everyone altending the evenl will be required to check in, receive their event materials. and in this way. we will be able to track attendees' destinaiions and overnight stay statistics. We have found that our online surveys are not well-responded to (we believe thai this is due to the older age of our event attendees). We are constantly refining our advertising methods. Our partnership with Living Bird Magazine will begin earlier, and add print to their digital presence.
