KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF’S OFFICE <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: March 1, 2022 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of <br />Option of Renewal between Kittitas County and Summit Food Services. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County has had a Professional Services Operating Agreement <br />with Summit Food Services (Summit), formerly known as Consolidated Food <br />Management, Inc. since 2011, for the management and operation of the food service <br />program at the Kittitas County Jail. Summit has expressed its desire to extend the period <br />of the agreement an additional year in a letter dated retro-actively to January 21, 2022. In <br />this letter they also indicate that meal rates will increase by 5.8% cost per meal over the <br />previous year, based on cost of living increases according to the Consumer Price Index. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has reviewed and <br />approved. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of <br />Option of Renewal between Kittitas County and Summit Food Services. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Please return 1 signed original to KCSO. Sheriff’s Office to provide a <br />fully executed Agreement back to the BOCC upon signature by Summit Food Services. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Command Staff
