Request to Approve a Resolution to Award the
Bid to furnish Liquid Asphalt Materials for
Calendar Year 2022.
BACKGROUND: Annually, Kittitas County Public Works goes
out to bid for the furnishing of Liquid Asphalt
Materials in accordance with Standard
Specifications of the Washington State
Department of Transportation. Call for bids are
advertised in the legal newspaper.
INTERACTION:
Bids were opened on February 17, 2022, at
2:00 p.m. in the Public Works Department.
Three bids were received and deemed
responsive.

RECOMMENDATION: Move to approve the Resolution to Award the
Bid to furnish Liquid Asphalt Materials for 2022
to Ergon Asphalt and Emulsions for Schedule
'A' and Albina Asphalt for Schedule 'B'.
HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works

NO. 2022 -
TO AWARD THE BID TO FURNISH LIQUID ASPHALT MATERIALS FOR 2022
WHEREAS: A Notice of Call for Bids was approved and signed on February 1, 2022, to
furnish Liquid Asphalt Materials for 2022; and
WHEREAS: Sealed bids were opened on February 17, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Kittitas County
Public Works Office, and three (3) bids were received; and
WHEREAS: The Public Works Department recommends that the responsible bid of Ergon
Asphalt and Emulsions for Schedule "A" and Albina Asphalt for Schedule `B" be
accepted; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the
best interest of the public, does hereby award the bid for 2022 Liquid Asphalt Materials to Ergon
Asphalt and Emulsions for Schedule "A" and Albina Asphalt for Schedule "B", upon such terms
and conditions as specified in the Proposal submitted by said bidder(s).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works is authorized to sign the
contract documents upon such terms and conditions specified in the Proposal submitted by said
bidder(s).
