AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF'PUBLIC WORIG TO PAY REMAINING
CONSTRUCTION COSTS TO THE CITY OF'ELLENSBURG COMPLETING THE
UNIVERSITY WAYIREECER CREEK INTERSECTION TRAFFIC SIGNAL
WHEREAS: The City of Ellensburg requires signalization of the University Way/Reecer
Creek Road intersection as a condition of approval supporting relocation of
the Solid Waste Transfer Station; and
WHEREAS: Public Works paid for signalization design and granted the City of Ellensburg
construction funding through a Surface Transportation Block Grant
supporting Transfer Station development; and
WHERBAS: The Surface Transportation Block Grant to the City of Ellensburg requires a
local match of $74,672.72; and
WHBREAS: Public Works proposes paying the local match with funding reserves and
subsequently seeking pro rata cost recovery from Solid Waste for their share
of signalization expense.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Board of County Commissioners, after due
consideration, does hereby authorize the Director of Public Works to pay the local match of
the City of Ellensburg's Transportation Block Grant signalizingthe University Way/Reecer
Creek intersection in the amount of $74,672.42.
