KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: February 15, 2022 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Acknowledge the Federal Financial Assistance <br />Grant Award Subrecipient Agreement between WA State Parks and Recreation <br />Commission and Kittitas County Sheriffs Office. <br />BACKGROUND: The Kittitas County Sheriff s Office has worked with the Washington <br />State Parks and Recreation Commission for many years. The Boating Safety Program <br />funds are available to assist the Sheriff s Office with local marine law enforcement <br />efforts to reduce the number and severity of recreational boating casualties of all types <br />and ensure a safe and enjoyable boating environment for all users. In exchange for vessel <br />registration fees, KCSO shall furnish marine patrol deputies in support of these goals and <br />certain matching funds as outlined in the agreement. This Federal Financial Assistance <br />Grant Award Subrecipient Agreement provides additional guidance for the 2022 Boating <br />Safety Grant already authorized by the Board of County Commissioners on 12/01/21 by <br />Resolution 2021-190. <br />INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has reviewed and <br />approved this Agreement. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Acknowledge the Federal Financial Assistance <br />Grant Award Subrecipient Agreement between WA State Parks and Recreation <br />Commission and Kittitas County Sheriffs Office. <br />HANDLING: KCSO to provide a fully executed Agreement back to the BOCC upon <br />signature by WA State Parks. <br />LEAD STAFF: Command Staff <br />
