As our community grows. we are seeing more corporate businesses, bankrng instjtutions. and others who are wanting to be recognized as community padners and sponsors. Our sponsorship opporlunities have not only grown in the nuntber of sponsors, but also at the sponsorship level. This year we will be launching a new "Partnership" donor program. The intent is to encourage businesses, organizations, corporations, and individuals to suppod their association through differeni partnership donor levels. With the success of an increase in the Main Street Tax lncentive Program. our association will be able to obtain additional B&O tax dollars from businesses who are interested in donating and receiving a tax incentive credit. A portion of this increase will be added to the Promotion's Conrmittee budget for marketing and events. Through our collaboration with our parlners, we are able to jointly fund activities and events, which also reduces costs for all partnels and gives everyone the ability to work smarter. with reduced individual expenses and obtain greater success in our efforts to market and execute events, 2500 rharactFif lirnil Application Questions'. The ongoing challenges of COVID 19 have continued to impact our events and activities. However, our Board of Directors and commitiee members have been creative in addressing these impacts. We have implemented a planning format that allows for activities and events to flow through town. By moving from businesses to businesses. pocket park to pocket park, this allowed us to safely offer activiiies. Our activities this past yearwere held. but in many cases nrodified to meet safety requirements for COVID, For Pioneer Days 2A21, due to crowd concerns. we did not offer a full menu of activities in downtown Cle Elum. Our vendor market and Kid Zone were not offered, and the 3 on 3 basketball tournament was canceled. However, our association continued to bring Pioneer Days parlners together to identify activitres that were going to be held and to encourage a "flow" of activilies throughout Cle Elum. Roslyn Ronald. and Suncadia Resort. We also worked with businesses like Dru Bru to develop outdoor games for families. As a result. we were able to identify a full menu of offerings that were then advertised locally. online, and through the effor1s of all partners. We had a very successful. safe. and fun Pioneer Days weeketrd. We successfully introduced a Moiher's Day Market with pop-ups in retail. foocl. and beverage locations. Vendors were placed on the sidewalk and people were encouraged to shop and explore downtown during that weekend. Another successful venture that we were able io safely hold was the new Cle Elum Public Market downtown. Working with the Kittitas County Health Departrnent we were able to develop a safe layout to space vendors and a safe foot rouie for market visitors. Boo-Elum, our fall signature event. was noi helci as a "Trunk or Treat" event like normal on First Street. We adapted and had a "Boo Cruize" where our trr.rnk or treaters drove through neighborhoods bringing treats to them. For 2021, we are planning four different ways to hold this event and watching COVID numbers to determine how it will take place. We are plannlng two safe events. a Scarecrow Contest and a Pumpkin Path, to offer the opportunity for famiiles businesses, and visitors to enjoy Halloween. We at'e currently in the planning phase for our annual Cl-rrisirrras in Cle Elurr, again looking at different ways to safely offer a festive time during a peak season of tourists and retail business saies. ?5ij{l cirara.ler lirYrii Additional lnformation Working with the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce. our association was able to receive lodging data for this past year. Based on the data points from Star Destinatron Report and Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce. we predict 11,025 people will travel io Upper County in 2022 from 5A+ miles outside of the courrtyfor leisure activities. ln addition. we predictthis could bring 4,320 room nights at the average ADR of $103.88. equaling a total impact of $448.762 to the upper county area. The demand of hotel room nights sold in 2020 in the county was 41,851 for leisure travel that includes events. Upper County properties selling '17.2B2 hotel roonr nights. 25% of that number, (the average percent of 50 miles or further traveling for events) = 4.320 room nights. These visitors'activities may include festivals and events, retail shopping, dining, outdoor recreation. and ovenright stays. 250i) clr,rr acier lir.'1i SUppOrting DOCUments You [lay uplcaLj ary srpporiirrg.locuil]ents siiclr as o.aphs rrnaqes riiagrarrs rrarketrn!t rt)aielals {iic. We have introduced two new methods of calculating visitors at events_ These methods will continue to be used, zip code tracking and direct count. This past year we added a zip code tool to our event cards which has allowed us to track a percentage of travelers attending events and activities. This meihod has allowed to validate that we are attracting visitors from greater than 50 miles in distance. We have also been able to validate that tourist from outside of the Staie of Washington and even the United Stales are stopping and exploring Cle Elurr. Our direci count methods include conducting walking counts throughout our events This is occurring at least every half hour out at locations where events are being held. We also ask retail partners to help keep track by counting shoppers in their businesses. Additionally. we measure our results throLrgh google analytics, regisiration forms. and social media reports on ads placed and engagements. We will also be adding data from our new website which will feature such as our hub for communication Stariing in 2022, we will be adding an informal survey to our marketing materials, asking participants whether they are lodging overnight during their experience at our events. At this time. it is hard to collect data directly from our hotels. this process will allow for a sampling of findings in relation to lodging. 2500 character lirnii Bl FundinE Does your organization have, or have you applied for. grant funding from other sources? lf noi. why not? lf yes. please list the funding you have for the project, including any volunteer and in-kind sources in Question 9l Project Budget Overview.
