STATE OF WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION

RESOLUTION TO APPROVE KITTITAS COUNTY UPDATED 2021 EMERGENCY
OPERATION PLAN
WHEREAS, the County has obligations to provide public health emergency response to Kittitas
County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to multiple Revised Code of Washington (RCW), Washington
Administrative Code, and local Kittitas County Code, the public health department
shall respond to a range of potential emergencies include communicable disease,
environmental health incidents, in addition to certain all hazards that occur within
Kittitas County.; and
WHEREAS, according to the Comprehensive Preparedness Guide 101: Developing and
Maintaining Emergency Operation Plans, emergency operation plans promote a
common understanding of the fundamentals of community-based, risk-informed
planning; and
WHEREAS, the plan uses concepts national incident management system (NIMS); and
WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Public Health Department’s (KCPHD) Emergency Operation
Plan (EOP) aligns with our local and state emergency response partners; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the plan is to provide guidelines for coordinated preparedness and
response to emergency incidents; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas
County now hereby adopts the 2021 Updated Emergency Operation Plan that is referenced
herein.
