KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: December 21, 2021 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER <br />AERONAUTICAL LEASES FOR COUNTY OWNED <br />T-HANGARS <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Bowers Field Airport is transitioning all T-Hangar leases from <br />“month-to-month” to annual to reduce the administrative costs <br />associated with operating these premises. The existing model <br />requires the Auditor’s office to issue monthly invoices to tenants <br />that have been residing in theses spaces since as far back as <br />November of 1993. <br /> With this update, the rate at which these Hangars are leased will <br />increase from $125/$150 per month, to $175 per month, keeping in <br />line with current market trends and the findings of our most current <br />market study. <br /> New leases will go into effect on 1/1/2022, at which time they will <br />be delivered to the BoCC for notary and signature. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Board of County Commissioners, Airport Advisory Committee, <br />Prosecutor’s Office, and Airport staff. <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approve resolution authorizing the presented leases at <br />Bowers Field and approve resolution terminating current month-to- <br />month leases. <br /> <br />AAC RECOMMENDATION: Approve resolution authorizing the presented leases at <br />Bowers Field and approve resolution terminating current month-to- <br />month leases. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Return one original to the Airport. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Public Notice, Resolutions, and T-Hangar Lease. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Ken Grannan, Airport Director <br />
