AGENDA SESSION DATE: February 1, 2022
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution selecting TranTech
Engineering LLC for Design of the Replacement of
Bridge #89342 Vantage Highway over Cascade Canal
and authorize the Public Works Director to negotiate and
execute a Local Agency A & E Professional Services
Agreement for the same, CRP 310-21.

BACKGROUND: On December 21, 2021, the Kittitas County Board of
County Commissioners authorized advertisement of a
request for qualifications for design of the replacement
of bridge #89342 Vantage Highway over Cascade Canal.
Four (4) submittals were received by the closing date of
January 13, 2022. The submittals were scored by Public
Works, and the selected submittal is from TranTech
Engineering LLC. After formal selection the Public
Works Director will be authorized to negotiate and
execute a Local Agency A & E Professional Services
Agreement with TranTech Engineering LLC.
The design and engineering phase of this project will we
completed with American Rescue Plan funding. The
goal is to have the Engineering completed and the
project ready for construction during the Winter of 2022-
2023.
INTERACTION: Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution selecting TranTech Engineering
LLC for design of the Replacement of Bridge #89342
Vantage Highway over Cascade Canal and authorize the
Public Works Director to negotiate and execute a Local
Agency A & E Professional Services Agreement for the
same, CRP 310-21.

AUTHORIZING THE SELECTION OF TRANTECH ENGINEERING LLC FOR
SUPPORTING DESIGN OF THE REPLACEMENT OF BRIDGE #89342 VANTAGE
HIGHWAY OVER CASCADE CANAL AND AUTHORIZE THE PUBLIC WORKS
DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A LOCAL AGENCY A & E
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR THE SAME, CRP 310-21.
WHEREAS: Kittitas County Public Works advertised a Request for Statement of
Qualifications For Designing the Replacement of Bridge #89342, Vantage
Highway Over Cascade Canal; and
WHEREAS: Submittals were due by January 13, 2022; and
WHEREAS: There were four (4) firms that submitted their qualifications for review; and
WHEREAS: Kittitas County Public Works reviewed the submittals and recommends
TranTech Engineering LLC to be the selected design firm;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best
interest of the public, does hereby select TranTech Engineering for Design of the
Replacement of Bridge #89342 Vantage Highway over Cascade Canal, and
authorize the Public Works Director to negotiate and execute a Local Agency A
& E Professional Services Agreement for the same, CRP 310-21.
