Ruby St., Suite 2, Ellensburg, WA 98926 <br />CDS@CO.KITTITAS.WA.US <br />Office (509) 962-7506 <br /> <br /> <br />“Building Partnerships – Building Communities” <br /> <br />BOCC AGENDA SESSION <br />STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />BOCC AGENDA SESSION DATE: January 18, 2022 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing an Interlocal Agreement between the <br />City of Ellensburg and Kittitas County for Annexation and Development within the <br />Urban Growth Area <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The City and County have been working towards an interlocal agreement (ILA) to <br />govern annexation and development in the City's Urban Growth Area (UGA) for <br />well over 10 years. Renewed efforts to reach agreement began last year involving <br />regular meetings over several months between City and County staff, along with <br />Mayor Tabb and Commissioner Wachsmith. The interlocal has been agreed to by the <br />negotiating teams and has been submitted to both legislative bodies for approval. <br />The City of Ellensburg approved the proposed ILA on December 20, 2021. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Board of Commissioners, Community Development Services, Public Works, <br />Prosecutor’s Office <br /> <br />HANDLING: Presentation to the Board by Kittitas County Community Development Services. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Proposed Interlocal Agreement <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Dan Carlson, AICP, CDS Director
