KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: January 18, 2022 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of <br />an Interlocal Agreement Between the City of Ellensburg, Washington and the County of <br />Kittitas, Washington for the Housing of Inmates. <br />BACKGROUND: This Interlocal Agreement is between the City of Ellensburg and <br />Kittitas County for the Housing of Inmates from January 1, 2022 -December 31, 2024 <br />subject to earlier termination as provided in the Agreement. The daily rate proposed is <br />$69.83/day in 2022, $73.32/day in 2023, and $76.99/day in 2024. The rate of <br />compensation for any inmate requiring additional or specialized conditions of <br />incarceration to the extent that they must be placed alone in a single cell designed for <br />double occupancy shall be $139.66/day in 2022, $146.64/day in 2023 and $153.98/day <br />in 2024. <br />INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecutor's Office has reviewed and approved <br />this Interlocal Agreement. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an <br />Interlocal Agreement Between the City of Ellensburg, Washington and the County of <br />Kittitas, Washington for the Housing of Inmates. <br />HANDLING: Please return one fully executed original to KCSO, which we will <br />provide to the City for its records. <br />LEAD STAFF: Superintendent Steve Panattoni <br />
