AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: January 18, 2022
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an
Interlocal Agreement Between the City of Kittitas, Washington and the County of
Kittitas, Washington for the Housing of Inmates.
BACKGROUND: This Interlocal Agreement is between the City of Kittitas and Kittitas
County for the Housing of Inmates from January 1, 2022-December 31, 2024 subject to
earlier termination as provided in the Agreement. The daily rate proposed is $69.83/day
in 2022, $73.32/day in 2023, and $76.99/day in 2024. The rate of compensation for any
inmate requiring additional or specialized conditions of incarceration to the extent that
they must be placed alone in a single cell designed for double occupancy shall be
$139.65/day in 2022, $146.63/day in 2023 and $161.67/day in 2024.
INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecutor’s Office has reviewed and approved
this Interlocal Agreement.
RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an
Interlocal Agreement Between the City of Kittitas, Washington and the County of
Kittitas, Washington for the Housing of Inmates.
HANDLING: Please return one fully executed original to KCSO, which we will
provide to the City of Kittitas for its records.
