amendments to the agreement that are mutually satisfactory and not otherwise contrary to
law, including but not limited to a change in the dates for completion of any portion or the

We had considerable growth in what we offer as part of the guest experience in
2020 (i.e. added and attractions). ln 2021. we have expanded our patch hours to
include Thursdays and Fridays. And, we have grown our overall operaiion this year.
While we are still, and always will be, a u-pick pumpkin patch, we opened our
Summer Farm Market this year (a non-event larmers market meets kid's play zone).
We also joined the Suncadia Sunday Market and look forward to the Roslyn Market
in 2022. Finally, we added camping accomodations at the farm.
While our 2021 summer "expansion" is noi directly tied to the fall festival. we do
believe that our overall growth and success in the summer months only bolsters our
success in the fall.
We also continue to offer fun and educational field trips and private rentals.

Application Questions . Parl 2
V\,&y vrould lorrrists travel to Kittitas County to altend your eventlaclivitylfacility?
Why wouldn't they?! The feedback we've gotten from guests over the past several
years gives us a three part answer to this question.
One, they like ihe working farm, non-commercial feel of our patch. We offer an
authentic, wholesome, fall farm experience - and that's something that those caught
up in the rat race are craving-
Two, we have the best weather! Our westside pumpkin counterparts are constantly
battling fall weather. Parking lots flood, corn mazes turn to mud and guest numbers
drop. While we run into the occasional ran each year, it's nothing in comparison to
what the westside patches see - and it certainly doesn't affect our operations the
way it does there.
lhree, a visit to the pumpkin patch is a deeply rooted annual tradition for a lot of
people - and they are looking to make the most of it. This includes making a
weekend adventure or day kip out ofthe experience. Another component that we're
seeing as a result of Covid is that oiher patches are permanently altering their
operations. With Covid as tlre catalysi, many patches turned lo timed ticketing to
control guest numbers (i.e. guests must buy their ticket in advance, for a specific day
and time). And, the agriiourism operators loved it, but guests did not. We are not a
timed ticket event, nor do we see the need lo go this direction anytinre in the near
future.

Describe the prior success of your eveni/actjvily/facilily in allraction lourisis.
We have always worked hard to altract folks from the westside, Yakima and
Wenatchee areas. And, we have done so with a lot of success. We employ an on-
site raffle, which requires pertinent information in order to enter (i.e. name, email, zip
code, are you staying overnight and how many night). We also use on-site in-person
surveys. Based on the information we've captured through these methods, we know
that typically about 40% of our guests are from outside the county. However, that
number jumped exponentially in 2028 to 52o/o, given that surrounding counties had
tighter Covid/agritourism restriciions. While we expeci many "Covid guests" to go
back to their "usual" pumpkin patch ihis year, we expect that many will also be back.
Given that this application is being submitted after our 2021 event has kicked off, we
can report that our non-county guest numbers are in fact up from 2019 - leading us
io believe ihai we will we retain a percentage of our new 2020 guests ultimately fall
somewhere between 2019 and 202A in overall attendance.

Measuring Results*
Describe holv you will piomole your eventlactivily,{acjlity to altract tourisls.
We have a multi-faceted marketing campaign each year.
First, we focus heavily on social media, drilling down demographics to set zip codes
on the westside, in Douglas, Chelan, Yakima and Grant counties. Social media
includes Facebook, lnstagram and Tik-Tok.
Second, we purchase ad space on targeted westside blogs (for example
Snoqualmie Living).
Third. we buy space in visitor guides that are distributed throughout the
springlsummer months - aimed at tourists already here.
Fourth, we participate in multiple parades both inside and outside the county.
Fifth, we use posters in high tourist/traffic areas
Sixth. we run radio ad campaigns.
Seventh, we began attending the Suncadia Sunday Market this year, in hopes of
getting in fronl of more "westsiders" and giving them a good reason to come back in
the fall.
Finally, we are constantly partnering wiih other businesses, non-profits, etc.

4l Collaboration
lf your organization collaborates or has created partnerships with other organizations, groups, or other events,
how is this accomplished?
4.'l Collaboration*Collaboration was low last year. given Covid's effect on various businesses. And,
we're seeing it to some degree again in 202'1 (i.e. lack of inverrtory for "Touch a
Tractor", etc.). That said. our answer to this question is in part, historically based, as
we have every intention of maintaining past relationships while we continue io build
others:
Ellensburg Downtown Assoc. Buskers in the Burg, Bite of the Burg, Labor Day
Rodeo parade, YoungLife, Mercer Creek Church, Elmview, Trellis. Barn Quilts, Junk-
tiguen, Cle Elum Downtown Assoc. Pioneer Days event. Pioneer Days parade, Boo

Collocum Farms, KJoe Designs, AJ Designs. Ryan Thompson Memorial, Spirit

vendors we've invited to sell at The Patch, groups we host pro-bono and donation

The very nature of our event creates a draw for the whole county. which benefits
businesses of all types (i.e. restaurants, hotels, shops. etc.).
Specific ways we promote other businesses include rraking space available for
makers/growers to sell their products and promoting those busrnesses by
highlighting them on our social media platforms. And, while Covid has impacted
many of our direct partnership efforts (for example, Pape (formerly WA Tractor)
doesn't have tlre inventory to host "Touch a Tractor"), we plan to get those rolling
again in 2022.\Ne will also be offering multi-tiered sponsorship opporlunities which
will feature partners on-site, on our web site and social media platforms. We would
also be happy to work with a host hotel.
Finally, while it's noi measurable, we (as the owners) dedicate ourselves to vislting
with as many guests as possible {because we love doing it and ii's a great way to
get more information!). We love sharing everything Kittitas County has to offer with
guests...from restaurants and places to stay to our favorite shops, sweel splurges,

Please explain what plans exist to allow this project to become self-sustaining. lnclude any plans for ticket sales,
event sponsors, and other cost-recovery models.
Future Plans*We have been growing both the overall farm and our fall season festivities. As to the
farm. we have made good on our plans to expand into the summer season. While
this is not part of the funding request. we feel that the more exposurelguest traffic
the farm has, the better it is for our fall event.
To our fall event itself, we took a big step in2020, introducing paid admission. This
has generated a more consistent source of revenue. Going forward, we will be
looking at more consistani sponsorship oppotunities as well.

COVID-19 lnfofmatiOn ll yoil had a planreli --vent ;n ?020 or 2021. lvhether they uJere at)le to take place or nol. please ciescribe any
successes and challenges yoLl experjencerl.
After "vigorous" dialogue with the Governor's office and support by the county. we
were able to proceed with our event in 2020...and what an event that was!
We had a lot of successes last year.
First, we ended our event with no staff/family Covid cases and no cases raced back
to the farm. We worked hard and were very diligent in keeping everyone safe.
Second, we saw a record number of guests, with our out-of-county guests estimaied
at topping 50% of our visitors.
The challenges last year were also plentiful. One, there was a lot of work and time
involved in running during Covid. Second, the costs were extreme. For example, the
food service gloves we use were typically $5/box. ln 2020, they were $70 for the
same box and we needed 10-times as many. This is just one example. but overall.
the cost of various goods was high. Third, are labor costs were through ihe roof.
Typically, most of our staff are tied to a source of direct revenue (i.e. concession
workers are generat;ng food revenue. etc.) ln 2020, we were more than 25% over in
labor costs due to staff that simply disinfected and cleaned things all day. Fourth. we
had change our operations to meet Covid requirements. For example, we had buy
single use condiments, we purchased an Ag scale io eliminate touching pumpkins,
etc. - these changes, as well as the long list of others. led to a lot of extra costs.
Fifth. we had to purchase a lot of goods that were strictly for Covid operations (i.e.
signs. partttions, sanitation stations. etc.). Finally. while guests were overall very
grateful to be there, there were some "tetnpers" related to Covid requiremenis.
Our take away is that we significantly grew our guesi numbers. However. that growth
didn't all make it to our bottonr line given the costs. And. while we don't expect to
see those same numbers this year. we do expect to get a good percentage of those
same people back (2021). For our own planning and budgeting, we are projecting
our sales in 2021 lo be about 75% of 2A20. And, while we currently are falling a bit
short of that - we feel like we will be close, making our 2022 prolections pretty solid.

Additional lnformation We want to call out of the fact that our numbers (past and projected) seem a liitle
wonky - becasue they are. After a crazy 2020, where both attendance and spending
was up, we're tryrng to figure out where our new "norm" is once ihe dust settles.
While Covid was the driving force behind a lot of what we saw in 2020, it was also
the first year we irnplenrenied paid admission - which also brought changes. That
said, for the first time ever. we are projecting lower numbers than the year before_
For our own planning sake, we approached 2021 as being somewhere between
20'19 and 2020 (up from from 2019, but not nearly at2A20 numbers). And, as of this
application, we're able to get a little glimpse of where we're at so far and it looks like
this will hold true.
Please see the attached link for a great (we're biased) tourism video we had made
last year. We would like you to see ihis both in conjection with the required video
and simply to give you a "tourist eye" view of our event!:

Finally, we no longer offer the haunted attraction, we scaled back wholesale and
rolled most field trips into regular attendance days. As a result. we streamlined our
budget to a sinlge line item, "patch sales" - as ther€'s no need to break things out
that were not a part of this funded event (i.e. wholesale orders aren't a part of the
event. the haunt was never funded by lodging tax dollars. etc.).

We want to call out that when we talk about overnight stays, we are counting
families, not people. We take our total numbers gleaned from surveys/guessing
games and divide thai number by 3 (3 people average perfamily). Then. in an effort
to be conservative and account for things like us being the secondary reason for a
stay, duplicate data. etc., we use just 25ok of lhal number.
For example in 2019 we surveyed 410 people and 27% said they stayed the night. lf
we extrapolated lhose numbers out to our overall atiendance of 7000, 1 890 people
would have siayed the night. However. we look at families. not people. So, 1890/3
people per family = 630 families. However, to be conservative, we use just 25% of
that number, bringing overnight stays to 157.

By signing the filled-out form, you:
1. Certify that the TIN you are giving is correct (or you are waiting for a
number to be issued),
2. Certify that you are not subject to backup withholding, or
3. Claim exemption from backup withholding if you are a U.S. exempt
payee. lf applicable, you are also certifying that as a U.S. person, your
allocable share of any partnership income from a U.S. trade or business
is not subject to the withholding tax on foreign partners' share of
effectively connected income, and
4. Certify that FATCA code(s) entered on this form (if any) indicating
that you are exempt from the FATCA reporting, is correct. See What is
FATCA reporting, later, for further information.
Note: lf you are a U.S. person and a requester gives you a form other
than Form W-9 to request your TIN, you must use the requester's form if
it is substantially similar to this Form W-9.
Delinition of a U.S. person. For federal tax purposes, you are
considered a U.S. person if you are:
. An individual who is a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien;
. A partnership, corporation, company, or association created or
organized in the United States or under the laws of the United States;
. An estate (other than a foreign estate); or
. A domestic trust (as defined in Regulations section 30,l .7701-7).
Special rules for partnerships, Partnerships that conduct a trade or
business in the United States are generally required to pay a withholding
tax under section 1446 on any foreign partners' share of effectively
connected taxable income from such business. Further, in certain cases
where a Form W-9 has not been received, the rules under section 1446
require a partnership to presume that a partner is a foreign person, and
pay the section 1446 withholding tax. Therefore, if you are a U.S. person
that is a partner in a partnership conducting a trade or business in the
United States, provide Form W-9 to the partnership to establish your
U.S. status and avoid section 1446 withholding on your share of
partnership income.
ln the cases below, the following person must give Form W-9 to the
partnership for purposes of establishing its U.S. status and avoiding
withholding on its allocable share of net income from the partnership
conducting a trade or business in the United States.
. ln the case of a disregarded entity with a U.S. owner, the U.S. owner
of the disregarded entity and not the entity;
. ln the case of a grantor trust with a U.S. grantor or other U.S. owner,
generally, the U.S. grantor or other U.S. owner of the grantor trust and
not the trust; and
. ln the case of a U.S. trust (other than a grantor trust), the U.S. trust
(other than a grantor trust) and not the beneficiaries of the trust.
Foreign person. lf you are a foreign person or the U.S. branch of a
foreign bank that has elected to be treated as a U.S. person, do not use
Form W-9. lnstead, use the appropriate Form W-8 or Form 8233 (see
Pub. 515, Withholding of Tax on Nonresident Aliens and Foreign
Entities).
Nonresident alien who becomes a resident alien, Generally, only a
nonresident alien individual may use the terms of a tax treaty to reduce
or eliminate U.S. tax on certain types of income. However, most tax
treaties contain a provision known as a "saving clause." Exceptions
specified in the saving clause may permit an exemption from tax to
continue for certain types of income even after the payee has otherwise
become a U.S. resident alien for tax purposes.
lf you are a U.S. resident alien who is relying on an exception
contained in the saving clause of a tax treaty to claim an exemption
from U.S. tax on certain types of income, you must attach a statement
to Form W-9 that specifies the following five items.
1. The treaty country. Generally, this must be the same treaty under
which you claimed exemption from tax as a nonresident alien.
2. The treaty article addressing the income.
3. The article number (or location) in the tax treaty that contains the
saving clause and its exceptions.
4. The type and amount of income that qualifies for the exemption
from tax.
5. Sufficient facts to justify the exemption from tax under the terms of
the treaty article.
Example. Article 20 of the U.S.-China income tax treaty allows an
exemption from tax for scholarship income received by a Chinese
student temporarily present in the United States. Under U.S. law, this
student will become a resident alien for tax purposes if his or her stay in
the United States exceeds 5 calendaryears. However, paragraph 2 of
the first Protocol to the U.S.-China treaty (dated April 30, 1984) allows
the provisions of Article 20 to continue to apply even after the Chinese
student becomes a resident alien of the United States. A Chinese
student who qualifies for this exception (under paragraph 2 of the first
protocol) and is relying on this exception to claim an exemption from tax
on his or her scholarship or fellowship income would attach to Form
W-9 a statement that includes the information described above to
support that exemption.
lf you are a nonresident alien or a foreign entity, give the requester the
appropriate completed Form W-8 or Form 8233.
Backup Withholding
What is backup withholding? Persons making certain payments to you
must under certain conditions withhold and pay to the IRS 24% of such
payments. This is called "backup withholding." Payments that may be
subject to backup withholding include interest, tax-exempt interest,
dividends, broker and barter exchange transactions, rents, royalties,
nonemployee pay, payments made in settlement of payment card and
third party network transactions, and certain payments from fishing boat
operators. Real estate transactions are not subject to backup
withholding.
You will not be subject to backup withholding on payments you
receive if you give the requester your correct TlN, make the proper
certifications, and report all your taxable interest and dividends on your
tax return.
Payments you receive will be subject to backup withholding if:
1. You do not furnish your TIN to the requester,
2. You do not certify your TIN when required (see the instructions for
Part ll for details),
3. The IRS tells the requester that you furnished an incorrect TlN,
4. The IRS tells you that you are subject to backup withholding
because you did not report all your interest and dividends on your tax
return (for reportable interest and dividends only), or
5. You do not certify to the requester that you are not subject to
backup withholding under 4 above (for reportable interest and dividend
accounts opened after 1 983 only).
Certain payees and payments are exempt from backup withholding.
See Exempt payee code, lalet, and the separate lnstructions for the
Requester of Form W-9 for more information.
Also see Special rules for partnerships, earlier.
What is FATGA Reporting?
The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) requires a
participating foreign financial institution to report all United States
account holders that are specified United States persons. Certain
payees are exempt from FATCA reporting. See Exempfion from FATCA
reporting code, later, and the lnstructions for the Requester of Form
W-9 for more information.
Updating Your lnformation
You must provide updated information to any person to whom you
claimed to be an exempt payee if you are no longer an exempt payee
and anticipate receiving reportable payments in the future from this
person. For example, you may need to provide updated information if
you are a C corporation that elects to be an S corporation, or if you no
longer are tax exempt. ln addition, you must furnish a new Form W-9 if
the name or TIN changes for the account; for example, if the grantor of a
grantor trust dies.
Penalties
Failure to furnish TlN, lf you fail to furnish your correct TIN to a
requester, you are subiect to a penalty of $50 for each such failure
unless your failure is due to reasonable cause and not to willful neglect.
Civil penalty for lalse information with respect to withholding. lf you
make a false statement with no reasonable basis that results in no
backup withholding, you are subject to a $500 penalty.
Form W-9 (Rev. 10-2018)Page 3
Criminal penalty for falsifying information. Willfully falsifying
certifications or affirmations may subject you to criminal penalties
including fines and/or imprisonment.
Misuse of TlNs, lf the requester discloses or uses TlNs in violation of
federal law, the requester may be subject to civil and criminal penalties.

e. Disregarded entity. For U.S. federal tax purposes, an entity that is
disregarded as an entity separate from its owner is treated as a
"disregarded entity." See Regulations section 301 .7701-2(c)(2)(iii). Enter
the owner's name on line 1. The name of the entity entered on line 1
should never be a disregarded entity. The name on line 1 should be the
name shown on the income tax return on which the income should be
reported. For example, if a foreign LLC that is treated as a disregarded

Privacy Act Notice
Section 61 09 of the lnternal Revenue Code requires you to provide your
correct TIN to persons (including federal agencies) who are required to
file information returns with the IRS to report interest, dividends, or
certain other income paid to you; modgage interest you paid; the
acquisition or abandonment of secured property; the cancellation of
debt; or contributions you made to an lRA, Archer MSA, or HSA. The
person collecting this form uses the information on the form to file
information returns with the lRS, reporting the above information.
Routine uses of this information include giving it to the Department of
Justice for civil and criminal litigation and to cities, states, the District of
Columbia, and U.S. commonwealths and possessions for use in
administering their laws. The information also may be disclosed to other
countries under a treaty, to federal and state agencies to enforce civil
and criminal laws, or to federal law enforcement and intelligence
agencies to combat terrorism. You must provide your TIN whether or
not you are required to file a tax return. Under section 3406, payers
must generally withhold a percentage of taxable interest, dividend, and
certain other payments to a payee who does not give a TIN to the payer.
Certain penalties may also apply for providing false or fraudulent
information.
Again, we feel 2O2O's numbers are skewed. As a result, we're including a breakdown of 20L9
410 entries (guess the corn kernel contest)
27% stayed overnight
7000 overall guests at The Patch
Based on the above, assume 27% stayed the night
= 1890 guests stayed the night
1890/3 people = 630 families stayed the night
Of those 530 families, we feel we can conservatively say 25% stayed for the patch experience, or 157
stays in all. *This is the one oreo we ollowed o little growth on our applicotion (L75 for 2022), given that
we were so conservotive on our numbers
Our second data collection method is a direct/informal survey that we do in person and when guests
call. We spoke with 112 guests in 2019 and asked the following questions:
Where are you visiting from?
How'd you hear about us?
Are you staying for the weekend and if so, where?
Of those directly surveyed, 20%were staying the night in paid accommodations and 62% overall were
from outside the county.
We believe this supports the findings of the larger, indirect survey via the guessing game.
*lt's worth noting that the out-of-county number is high (62%), because we are specifically seeking out
people who we believe are from outside the area and/or were calling for more information.
