shall be in Kittitas County, State of Washington.

We had planned for June 15-21 WASARVAC Conference in 2020.
Challenges: The June 15-21 202A Conference was cancelled due to COVID 19.
We were anxious about2021 and whether or not a gaihering this large will be
penritted in2A21 and we ultimately had to cancel lor2A21 .
We have concerns that these cancellations will have impacts on SAR units across
Washington State. (Note: many of the classes presented at this conference are field
training and classroonr classes that are not otherwise be avarlable to SAR

Successes: We have been meeting regularly io discuss and implement alternative
ways to partially accomplish the goals of this Conference. i.e. smaller classes,
online/zoom classes. alternative sites, some classes in Ellensburg.

Additional lnformation The Consolidated Lodging Tax Grant assists in our ability to provide this kaining.

Volunteers who attend at their own expense. SAR volunteers from here in Kittitas
County and across the State devote 1000's of hours in training and on search.
rescue and recovery ntissions each year without recompense and at their own
expense.
Spring of 201 9, Spring of 2A20 and 2A21 hundreds of SAR volunteers from other
counties in Washington State came to Kittitas County for evidence searches.
Withoui proper trained personnel these SAR and Community responses would noi
be possible throughout the State.

Washington State Search and Rescue Conference is an educational conference that
affords SAR Volunieers (at their own expense) access to classes.
We anticipate that $175.00 registration fee may need to be raised at some point in
the future.
The Consolidaied Lodging Tax Grant assists in our ability to provide this training
Wiihout the LTAC grant we will likely need io increase the registration fee to SAR
Volunteers.
