Future Plans*The Cle Elum Roundup Association is continuing to build a strong board of directors with nrembers who are focused on meeting the organizational mission. Addilionally, the board is utilizing best business practices along with policies and procedures that will allow for strategic planning and long{erm self-sustarnability. Some of the immediate plans are: Utilize tiered and farnily package pricing for Friday night to encourage weeknight attendance & continue to sell out all performances. ln 2019 we identified the need lor increased seating capacity. We continue to work with the facility to develop a plan for a long-term seating solution. However. fot 2021 we nrade the decision to rent temporary bleachers to increase our seating capacity- 2021 Roundup ticket sales were limited only due to seating capacity. The rental bleachers have many limitations and are only a temporary seating solution. Permanent seating is of the utmost importance to the successful growth of the Roundup. However. it also presents substantial challenges due to space availability & venue wants/needs, as well as. permitting, site prep, installation, labor, and material costs. The longtenn benefits of permanent seating allows for better self- sustainability of nol only the Roundup but also other evenis held at the venue. There would be a revenue increase from additional tickets sales and tiered ticket pricing based on seat location- ln 2A22 we will continue to evolve our ticket sales with multiple performances and family ticket packs, as well as partnerships with local hotels & VRBO on packages to guarantee overnight siays. ln 2022 we will utilize sponsorship levels that better align our revenue goals and offers consistent messaging to our donors. This will help to preserve long-term donor relations, as well as attract new supporters. There has been a positive supporter response thus far. h 2A22 we will be increasing contestant participation with high-level arena ground management. We will increase our added money for all events and give go-round prizes. The contestants raved about our ground and the gas cards we gave away tn 2021. Finally. we will work with our stock contractor, PRCA & Columbia River Circuit to help increase our Rough Stock participation. ln 2022we are looking to increase revenue with more cornmunity support through an annual membership club, VIP seating, and expanding the event and specialty acts. 2500 characler limil Application Questions: Part 4 6l Additional lnformation Provide any additional information which will assist the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee in evaluating your project and its benefit to tourism. We worked closely with the County Health Department to be sure we were following all required state and county COVID 19 guidelines. We moved forward with planning however we did shifl our budget and reduced some expansion plans as there was uncerlainty from week to week if indeed a gathering event would be allowed. Sponsors were supportive and gave what they were able to. Sorne businesses were limited by the losses as a result of COVID-9 while others were able to give more. Almost all of our previous sponsors were able to continue to support the Roundup and expressed the value they see in what we offer to the upper county. Ticket sales were slow until the month of the eveni. However, as soon as people believed the event was going to hold. all performances sold out. We did have some increased expenses with additional sanitation measures and the need for rental seating and equipnreni. Barcoded tickets were sold and zip codes for purchasers were recorded at the time of sale. Tickets were scanned at the gate for enky. Additionally, we collected accommodation information by asking for overnight stay and accommodations information. Additionally, we collected residence and accommodations information for contestants, vendors, and volunieers through a registration process. ln 2021 we had 2039 overall attendance. 1309 were frorn outside of Kittitas County. 236 were from outside of WA state. 1070 paid for overnighi lodging (hotel/motel, RV or vacaiion rental). Using the 2.5 personslper room formula for paid lodging nights (provided by the chamber) thai would make a total of 508 paid nights. 2022 overall attendance is based on projected seating capacity and contestant increases expected. Then we used the percentage comparisons for out-of-county, oui-of-state, and overnights fram 2021 as we expect a similar demographic in 2022 (Out of county 64%, Out of state 12%, & Overnight 52% of the overall attendance). We then used the 2.5 persons/per room formula for the paid lodging (as provided by the chamber). This gave us aur 2022 projections. 2500 character lirnil Application Questions: Part 5 8l Funding Does your organization have, or have you applied for, grant funding from other sources? lf not, why not? lf yes, please list the funding you have for the project, including any volunteer and in-kind sources in Question 9l Project Budget Overview- Funding sources and amounts which have not yet been secured will be listed separately, in the field(s) directly below Finally. what changes would occur if the project couldn't be funded? We are working toward long-term goals that include becoming self-sustaining. Over the past few years, we have significanily reviewed and revised our budget. However. there are certain aspects of rodeo we can not compromise on for the safety and protection of our sanctioning agreement, and even mote so our contestants. stock, sponsors. volunteers & fans. ln order to become self-sustaining we have to work through some venue challenges that take time due to the tremendous expense involved in seating and arena equipment, while also keeping the highest of caliber performances to keep fans, sponsors and contestants engaged and excited to be a part ofthe Cle Elum Roundup. We truly believe lhat we are an asset to the conrmunity and that we help to influence out-of{own tourists and overnight stays not only from our eveni but indirectly when people return to Kittitas county because of the experience they had while attending ihe Cle Elum Roundup. 2500 characi--r lirril. s25.78 I his field !.rill auto lill with the torrecl per{:eillage besecl on yo{.ri iIpLrt 1o bud.tel sertion below. 9l Project Budget Overview Please complete budget for this project/proposal. lf your agency operates independently of this project application it may not be necessary to submit the entire agency budget.
