Request the Board to authorizing the Closure of Fund #504 Dental Trust as of
December 3L,2O2L
On December 2t,2OL7, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution
2Ot7-2O5, A resolution establishing Fund 504- Dentalself lnsurance Program.
The Board decided to self-insure one of the offered dental plans, Guardian
Dental Program. The Board established fund to collect premiums and pay the
third-party administrator for the claims and other expenses. This was a self-
insurance plan set up per the requirements of RCW 48.52.071 and WAC 200-
LL0. When the Board created the fund, a reserve amount had to be established
and placed in the fund. Alliant recommended the amount of S18,432 to be the
reserye amount. The General Fund transferred the money to the Dental Self-
lnsurance Program.
Since the County no longer offers, Guardian Dental and no longer has a need for
the Trust fund. We recommend the Board approve the closure of this fund. As
of December 23,2021,, there is a balance of 5352.67, which the Budget - Finance
Director transferred to the General Fund via Auditor's transfer number TT-210-
2L.
Recommend the Board adopt the Resolution authorizing the closure of Fund #504
Dental Trust as of December 3L,2OZt.

WIIEREAS, on December Zlst,2Al7, per Resolution 2An-205, the Board of County
Commissioners established Fund 504, Dental Self Insurance Program, and
WHEREAS, the fund was created to self-insure one of the offered dental plans; Guardian
dental program, and
WHEREAS' firnd was created with funds from the General Fund in the amount of $18,432 to
establish the reserve within the fund, and
WHEREAS, the Guardian dental plan is no longer an offered plan and the Trust fund is
no longer needed.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RLSOLVED, effective December 31,2021, the firnd is closed and
the balance in the amount of $352.67 was fiansfeffed from the firnd 504 Dental Self Insurance Program to
the General Fund, per Auditor's transfer TT-210-2L
