KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />December 21, 2021 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Amendment <br />A to Contract #21-4610C-109 between Kittitas County and <br />the Washington State Department of Commerce – Shelter <br />Program Grant <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br /> Kittitas County has been awarded the Community Services <br />and Housing Division Housing Assistance Union – Shelter <br />Program Grant in the amount of $246,846. The grant <br />purpose is to fund equitable and creative approaches to <br />develop or expand shelter programs and bring people inside <br />with the goal of exiting participants to permanent and <br />positive outcomes quickly. <br /> <br /> The Department of Commerce has provided Contract <br />Number 21-4610C-109 for the Board of County <br />Commissioners consideration with the start date of August <br />1, 2020 and an end date of June 30, 20 23. The grant will be <br />operated out of the Homelessness fund. There are not any <br />County administration costs provided in this grant. County <br />Staff will be recording their time to general Homelessness <br />funds. <br /> <br /> HopeSource will be a sub-recipient for this grant and will <br />receive the entire amount $246,846. The program <br />description is <br /> <br /> <br />The amendment is increasing the number of beds at <br />the request of HopeSource. <br />
