KITTITAS COUNTY <br />TREASURER’S OFFICE <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: December 21, 2021 <br />ACTION REQUIRED: Request direction from the Board of County Commissioners on <br />distribution of PUD Privilege funds received. <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: According to RCW 54.28.090, the county legislative authority shall direct the <br />county treasurer to distribute PUD Privilege funds received to each taxing district <br />in the county other than school districts in a manner they deem most equitable, <br />except not less than an amount equal to three fourths of one percent of the gross <br />revenue obtained by a district from the sale of electrical energy within any <br />unincorporated city or town shall be remitted to such city or town. <br />INTERACTION: The Treasurer has discussed the RCWs related to these funds with our <br />counsel and with the Department of Revenue. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request direction from the Board of County Commissioners to distribute <br />all PUD Privilege funds received according to computations received from <br />the Kittitas County PUD. <br /> <br />HANDLING: 1 Original - Clerk of the Board <br /> 1 Original - Treasurer’s Office <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Attached is information provided by the Kittitas County PUD on the cities' and <br />towns' percentages, the Department of Revenue breakdown of PUD Privilege <br />funds received, and a calculation of total distribution using the PUD calculations. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Lisa Murray, Treasurer’s Office <br />
