KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF’S OFFICE <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: December 7, 2021 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an <br />Interlocal Agreement Between the County of Whatcom, Washington and the County of <br />Kittitas, Washington for the Housing of Inmates. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: This Interlocal Agreement is between the Whatcom County and <br />Kittitas County for the Housing of Inmates from January 1, 2022-December 31, 2023 <br />subject to earlier termination as provided in the Agreement. The daily rate proposed is <br />$69.83/day in 2022 and $73.32/day in 2023. The rate of compensation for any inmate <br />requiring additional or specialized conditions of incarceration to the extent that they must <br />be placed alone in a single cell designed for double occupancy shall be $139.65/day in <br />2022 and $146.63/day in 2023. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecutor’s Office has reviewed and approved <br />this Interlocal Agreement. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an <br />Interlocal Agreement Between the County of Whatcom, Washington and the County of <br />Kittitas, Washington for the Housing of Inmates. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Please return 1 signed original to KCSO.
