ACTION REQUESTED: REQUEST TO SET PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER
NEW AERONAUTICAL LEASES AT BOWERS FIELD
AIRPORT.
BACKGROUND: Bowers Field Airport requests to set a public hearing to
consider entering into two new aeronautical leases. These
leases will be for a period of 30 years, with the two 10-year
options available. Bowers Field will be leasing lots H-15B
and H-43.
DISCUSSION: Lot H-43 will be leased by Fred Benson who intends to
build a private box hangar. This is the last lot available for
lease on the eastern portion of the airfield, until the eastern
taxilane is extended.
H-15B will be leased by Linda and Mark Merrill with the
intent to build a private box hangar. This will be the first
hangar built in the recently available “ovals” located on the
eastern end of the apron. The Airport, through the use of a
CARB loan attained in 2021, will run power to these
“ovals” in early 2022.
INTERACTION: BoCC, Prosecutors Office.
RECOMMENDATION: Set public hearing concerning Aeronautical Leases for
December 21st, at 2pm.
HANDLING: Return one original to the Airport.
