KITTITAS COUNTY <br />AIRPORT DEPARTMENT <br />December 7, 2021 AGENDA <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: December 7, 2021 CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: REQUEST TO SET PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER <br />NEW AERONAUTICAL LEASES AT BOWERS FIELD <br />AIRPORT. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Bowers Field Airport requests to set a public hearing to <br />consider entering into two new aeronautical leases. These <br />leases will be for a period of 30 years, with the two 10-year <br />options available. Bowers Field will be leasing lots H-15B <br />and H-43. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: Lot H-43 will be leased by Fred Benson who intends to <br />build a private box hangar. This is the last lot available for <br />lease on the eastern portion of the airfield, until the eastern <br />taxilane is extended. <br />H-15B will be leased by Linda and Mark Merrill with the <br />intent to build a private box hangar. This will be the first <br />hangar built in the recently available “ovals” located on the <br />eastern end of the apron. The Airport, through the use of a <br />CARB loan attained in 2021, will run power to these <br />“ovals” in early 2022. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: BoCC, Prosecutors Office. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Set public hearing concerning Aeronautical Leases for <br />December 21st, at 2pm. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to the Airport. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: 2 Aeronautical Leases. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Ken Grannan <br />Airport Director
