AGENDA DATE: December 7, 2021
ACTION REQUESTED: Requesting Approval of an Ordinance Adopting Amendments to the
Kittitas County Critical Areas Ordinance and KCC Title 17A.
BACKGROUND: RCW 36.70A requires Kittitas County to adopt and maintain a critical
areas policy, which includes the most current information and data.
The Board of County Commissioners held a virtual public hearing on
November 3, 2021, to hear public testimony on the proposed CAO
updates.
The Board voted 3-0 to approve the proposed amendments to the CAO
and KCC Title 17A. The Board directed staff to prepare the documents for
signature at the December 7, 2021, agenda session.
INTERACTION: Community Development Services, Prosecuting Attorney and Board of
County Commissioners.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the ordinance regarding Kittitas County’s proposed Critical
Areas Ordinance update as shown in the attachments to the ordinance
(Exhibits A, B, and C).
