Contract/Grant Summary: The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office has worked with the Washington State
Parks and Recreation Commission for many years. The Boating Safety Program funds are available to
assist the Sheriff's Office with local marine law enforcement efforts to reduce the number and severity
of recreational boating casualties of all types and ensure a safe and enjoyable boating environment for
all users. In exchange for vessel registration fees, KCSO shall furnish marine patrol deputies in support of
these goals and certain matching funds as outlined in the agreement.
