STATE OF WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION NO. 2021-
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
BETWEEN WASHINGTON STATE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION AND KITTITAS
COUNTY, WASHINGTON FOR BOATING SAFETY AND EDUCATION SERVICES
WHEREAS, RCW 39.34, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, provides the capability for
public agencies to cooperate by providing services and facilities for mutual advantage; and
WHEREAS, Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission provides grant
assistance to agencies as part of their Recreational Boating Safety (RBS) Program; and
WHEREAS, Kittitas County is desirous of participating in the RBS program to help
reduce the number and severity of recreational boating casualties of all types associated
with recreational boating and ensure a safe and enjoyable boating environment for all
users; and
WHEREAS, Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission has reviewed
and accepted the application of the Kittitas County Sheriffs Office for a RBS Federal
Financial Assistance Grant; and
WHEREAS, the governing bodies of each of the parties to the Interlocal Agreement
attached hereto have determined to enter into this Interlocal Agreement by action taken at
a regular meeting; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Board of County
Commissioners of Kittitas County, Washington authorizes the execution of the Interlocal
Agreement for the Housing of Inmates that is attached hereto, and incorporated herein by
this reference, and which shall be forthwith filed with the Kittitas County Auditor pursuant
to RCW 39.34.040.
