11/02/2021 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON AUDITORIUM/WEBEX SPECIAL MEETING <br /> TUESDAY 2:00 P.M. NOVEMBER 2, 2021 <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chairman Laura <br />Osiadacz and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Ken Grannan, Airport <br />Director; David Welz, Administrative Assistant; Neil Caulkins, <br />Deputy Prosecutor; and Carly Brettmann, Communications Director. <br /> <br />Per Governor Inslee’s Proclamation 20-28 et seq., the public was <br />encouraged to join the meeting virtually or in person. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING AGRICULTURAL LEASES AIRPORT <br />At 2:00 p.m. CHAIRMAN BRETT WACHSMITH opened a Public Hearing to <br />consider Agricultural Leases at the Bowers Field Industrial and <br />Airport Area for Tracts 1-6. <br /> KEN GRANNAN, AIRPORT DIRECTOR reviewed a Staff Report. He said the <br />proposed Leases had been previously approved however, there were <br />changes to the ones with Mr. Victor Strand. He said Kittitas County <br />is currently evaluating use of the subject land and it may be <br />determined a higher and better use for the property and there are <br />current airport environmental and flood management projects which <br />may take place during the term of the lease. He said there was an <br />option for Mr. Strand to get out of the leases with written notice <br />due to any unknown impacts from the flood management projects. <br /> THERE BEING NO PUBLIC IN ATTENDANCE REQUESTING TO TESTIFY, THE PUBLIC PORTION OF THE HEARING WAS CLOSED. <br /> RESOLUTION 2021-162 AGRICULTURAL LEASES AIRPORT VICE-CHAIRMAN OSIADACZ moved to approve Resolution No. 2021-162, <br />Authorizing Ag Leases at the Bowers Field Industrial and Airport <br />Area for Tracts 1–6. COMMISSIONER WRIGHT seconded. Motion carried 3- <br />0. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 2:04 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
