ACTION REQUESTED: Signature of Chair on Solid Waste Management Local
Solid Waste Financial Assistance Agreement with the State
Department of Ecology for 2008 through 2009.
BACKGROUND: The Solid Waste Department has received a Solid Waste
Management Local Solid Waste Financial Assistance Agreement in the amount of
$326,892.00 from the Department of Ecology. This grant provides funding for Waste
Reduction and Recycling Activities, and Household Hazardous Waste Collection and
Disposal in Kittitas County from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023.
Every two years the county applies for this grant to help run our programs. This grant
requires a 25% local match in the amount of $81,723.00 which comes from tipping fees
at the transfer stations.
INTERACTION: Solid Waste Department, and Department of Ecology.
RECOMMENDATION: Signature of the Chair.
HANDLING: Return two signed copies to the Solid Waste Department.
