KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SOLID WASTE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: November 16, 2021 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Signature of Chair on Solid Waste Management Local <br />Solid Waste Financial Assistance Agreement with the State <br />Department of Ecology for 2008 through 2009. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Solid Waste Department has received a Solid Waste <br />Management Local Solid Waste Financial Assistance Agreement in the amount of <br />$326,892.00 from the Department of Ecology. This grant provides funding for Waste <br />Reduction and Recycling Activities, and Household Hazardous Waste Collection and <br />Disposal in Kittitas County from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023. <br /> <br />Every two years the county applies for this grant to help run our programs. This grant <br />requires a 25% local match in the amount of $81,723.00 which comes from tipping fees <br />at the transfer stations. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Solid Waste Department, and Department of Ecology. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Signature of the Chair. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Return two signed copies to the Solid Waste Department. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Solid Waste Management Local Solid Waste Financial Assistance <br />Agreement – SWMLSWFA-2021-KiCoSW-00012 <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Patti Stacey, Solid Waste Director. <br />
