ACTION REQUESTED: REQUEST TO AWARD BIDS TO LEASE COUNTY
AGRICULTURAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT BOWERS FIELD AIRPORT.
BACKGROUND: Bowers Field Airport has, for the past 30+ years, leased
unused lands surrounding the Airport for Agricultural use.
There are currently seven (7) tracts, approximately 800
acres of agricultural airport property under lease. The
current lease terms are ending November 30, 2021. Tract
seven will no longer be leased due to wetland mitigation.
The Airport recently placed Tracts 1 through 6 out for bid
and have received several qualified bids and wishes to enter
into a lease with the winning bidders.
DISCUSSION: Request to hereby award the leasing of property at
the Kittitas County Airport for agricultural purposes to the
following bidder(s):
Tract 1: Approximately 38.69 Acres.
Awarded To: Seven Bar LLC, in the amount of $5090.00
Per Year.
Tract 2: Approximately 270.7 Acres
Awarded To: Blazing Tree Cattle Co., in the amount of
$16,377.00 Per Year.
Tract 3: Approximately
Awarded To: Blazing Tree Cattle Co., in the amount of
$6,960.00 Per Year.
Tract 4: Approximately 70.70 Acres
Awarded To: Victor Strand, in the amount of$1507.00 Per
Year.
Tract 5&6: Approximately 342 Acres
Awarded To: Victor Strand, in the amount of $10,515.00
Per Year.
INTERACTION: BoCC, Prosecutors Office (Service Request 52950 &
52958)
AAC RECOMMENDATION: Award bids as received.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Award bids as received.
HANDLING: Return one original to the Airport.
