Request to Approve a Resolution to Award the bid
to furnish Snow & Ice Control Products for 2022.
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Public Works went out to bid for
the furnishing of specific snow & ice products in
accordance with specifications.
Bids were opened on October 21, 2021, at 2:00 p.m.
in the Public Works Department and four (4) bids
were received. Public Works recommends
awarding the bid to two (2) Vendors as described in
said Bid Tab attached.
INTERACTION: Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Move to approve a Resolution to Award the bid to
furnish Snow & Ice Control Products for 2022.
HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works

RESOLUTION NO. 2021 -
TO AWARD THE BID TO FURNISH SNOW & ICE CONTROL PRODUCTS FOR 2022
AND AUTHORIZE THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO SIGN CONTRACT
DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS: A Notice of Call for Bids was advertised for Snow and Ice Control Products for 2022 on
October 7, 2021, and October 14, 2021; and
WHEREAS: Sealed bids were opened on October 21, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the office of Kittitas
County Public Works and four (4) bids were received; and
WHEREAS: The Public Works Department recommends that the responsible bid of GMCO
Corporation for Item 41 Corrosion Inhibited Liquid Magnesium Chloride and for Item 43
RoadSaver— Soil Stabilizer; and the responsible bid of Pioneer Commodities for Item #2
Non -Corrosion Inhibited Solid Sodium Chloride be accepted for Snow & Ice Control
Products for 2022; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best interest
of the public, does hereby award the bid for 2022 Snow & Ice Control Products to GMCO Corporation
for Item #1 Corrosion Inhibited Liquid Magnesium Chloride and for Item #3 RoadSaver— Soil Stabilizer;
and the responsible bid of Pioneer Commodities for Item 42 Non -Corrosion Inhibited Solid Sodium
Chloride upon such terms and conditions as specified in the Proposal submitted by said bidder(s); and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works is authorized to sign the contract
documents upon such terms and conditions specified in the Proposal submitted by said bidder(s).
