AGENDA DATE: October 19, 2021
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Set a Public Hearing to Consider Critical Areas Ordinance
Update
BACKGROUND: CDS staff is requesting to set a virtual public hearing for November 3, 2021 at 6:00
p.m. via Webex to consider updates to Kittitas County Title 17A: Critical Areas
Ordinance. The proposed update will bring the existing regulations, dating to 1994,
into compliance with current Washington State regulations and Best Available
Science.
A Planning Commission virtual public hearing is scheduled for October 12, 2021 at
6:00 p.m. to consider the proposed updates. A staff report containing staff
recommendations and Planning Commission recommendations, along with a draft of
the Critical Areas Ordinance will be provided prior to the public hearing. A current
draft of the Critical Areas Ordinance, as well as technical memos and updated Critical
Aquifer Recharge Mapping is available for review on the Community Development
Services website:
