STATE OF WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION NO. 2021-
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
BETWEEN KITTITAS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE AND THE WASHINGTON TRAFFIC
SAFETY COMMISSION
WHEREAS, RCW 39.34, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, provides the capability for
public agencies to cooperate by providing services and facilities for mutual advantage; and
WHEREAS, the Washington Traffic Safety Commission (WTSC) and Kittitas
County Sheriffs Office (KCSO) have the ability and desire to enter into such a cooperative
agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the WTSC has and will provide overtime funding to law enforcement
agencies to conduct high visibility enforcement (HVA) traffic safety emphasis patrols and
related activities as outlined in the agreement in support of Target Zero priorities and;
WHEREAS, that funding facilitates the goals and duties of the Kittitas County
Sheriffs Office in improving the safety of the motoring public by providing these emphasis
patrols while reducing the fiscal impact on the County,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, That the
Agreement between Kittitas County Sheriffs Office and the Washington Traffic Safety
Commission for high visibility emphasis patrol is adopted and shall be filed consistent with
RCW 39.34.040.
