AGENDA DATE: August 17, 2021
ACTION REQUESTED: Approval of a Resolution Adopting Updated Kittitas County Planning
Commission Constitution and By-Laws
BACKGROUND: The Kittitas County Planning Commission was created in 1935 by resolution and
reactivated in 1958 by resolution. The current Planning Commission Constitution and
By-Laws have not been updated since 2006. From January 2020 through June of 2021,
staff worked with the Planning Commission to update the Constitution and By-Laws.
The update included providing for equal Commissioner district representation as
required by RCW 36.70.080 and providing for membership term staggering as required
by RCW 36.70.090. On June 8, 2021, the Planning Commission recommended
approval of the attached Constitution and By-Laws.
INTERACTION: CDS, Prosecuting Attorney, Planning Commission, Board of County Commissioners
ATTACHMENTS: Resolution Adopting Updated Kittitas County Planning Commission Constitution and
By-Laws for Board of County Commissioners Signature.

RECOMMENDATION: CDS recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the Resolution.
