BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION <br />NO. 2021 - <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CLERK'S SIGNATURE ON A CONTRACT WITH <br />RAPID FINANCIAL SERVICES FOR COURT FUNDS PREPAID CARDS SERVICES <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Clerk is statutorily responsible for collecting various fees and <br />payments on behalf of the Superior Court; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Clerk is also statutorily responsible for issuing payment(s) and <br />or refunds that have been ordered by the Superior Court; and <br />WHEREAS, presently, monies paid out through the registry of the court are paid via check; and <br />WHEREAS, issuing checks poses accounting issues and other barriers that do not exist with <br />prepaid card services; and <br />WHEREAS, the Clerk has negotiated a deal with Rapid Financial Services for prepaid card <br />services, that will enhance efficiency of the payment/refund process, by reducing <br />accounting issues and eliminating barriers for payment/refunds recipients, which is <br />attached hereto and hereby incorporated by this reference; and <br />WHEREAS, the County IT Department had an opportunity to review the contract for technical <br />issues and compatibility and issued their approval; and <br />WHEREAS, the BoCC finds that the prepaid card service contemplated in this agreement is in <br />the best interest of the County; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas <br />County, Washington, hereby authorizes the Clerk's signature on a contract with <br />Rapid Financial Services that is attached hereto. <br />DATED this day of , 2021, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Chair <br />Vice -Chair <br />Commissioner <br />
