ADDENDUM TO AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

THIS ADDENDUM TO AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES, by and
between Kittitas County, Washington (“County”), duly organized and operated under and by virtue
of the Constitution and the laws of the State of Washington, acting by and through its duly
authorized officers and, Andrew L. Kottkamp (“Kottkamp”), in his individual capacity.
Recitals:
WHEREAS, the County is authorized pursuant to RCW 36.32.245 to enter into this
Agreement for professional services for performance of the duties of the land use hearing
examiner; and
WHEREAS, on August 5, 2008, the Board of Kittitas County Commissioners appointed
Andrew L. Kottkamp as the Kittitas County Hearing Examiner; and
WHEREAS, the original contract for professional services remains in full force and effect;
and
WHEREAS, the County and Kottkamp wish to amend the Agreement for Professional
Services to modify the compensation to be paid to Kottkamp; and
WHEREAS, Kottkamp has agreed to this change,
NOW, THEREFORE, that August 5, 2008, Agreement for Professional Services is
hereby amended as follows:
AMENDMENT
SECTION 7: COMPENSATION is hereby amended as follows:
Under this Agreement Provider shall be compensated at the rate of $200 an hour for all
professional services performed for hearing. Provider shall also be compensated $125 an
hour for traveling time to and from Kittitas County, as well as for site visits, if deemed
necessary. Provider shall submit bills on a monthly basis to the County. Such bills shall be
paid on a timely basis. Provider agrees and acknowledges that he is an independent
contractor and provider shall timely pay all federal, state and local income, self-
employment, business and occupation taxes that may accrue and come due as a result of
compensation under this Agreement.
The remainder of the Agreement for Professional Services dated August 5, 2008 is hereby
reinstated and incorporated herein by this reference.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Agreement the day and
year as set forth herein.
Kittitas County has caused this instrument to be executed by its proper officers on the date
below.
