Multiple attempts at repairing the stave pipe were made due to not knowing if this was a live line or not. None of the repair attempts were successful. City engineers came out to veriff that this pipe was to be abandoned. The pipe was crushed in place and backfitled with 1 Ya" minus drain rock. There was one soft spot found during excavation that was next to a bollard that was to be removed. The unsuiiable material was dug out and filled wlth T, CY af concrete. Due to the soft nature of the subgrade, during paving the toaded trucks created ruts into the subgrade as they backed up to the paving machine. ln order to continue with paving, this was compensated for with additional HMA ptaced. additional contract days for CO 1 pushed the contract date past the event date of 7/6. Due to this we were asked to expedite the schedule to finish before 715.The box blade wasn't available for rent until 7/6, so we found another grading machine that was available at such short notice in order to expedite the schedule. cost We had a box blade attachment lined up for rental the week of 7/6 to grade the rock for asphalt prep, it was determined in the progress meeting on 6124 that the additional contract days for CO 1 pushed the contract date past the event date of 7/6. Due to this we were asked to expedite the schedule to finish before 7/5. The box blade wasn't available for rent until 7/6, so we found another grading machine that was available at such short notice in order to expedite the schedule.
